Posted by Amber on May 9th, 2008 A barcode is a series of upright bars of different widths, in which the digits of zero to nine are presented in a disparate pattern of vertical bars, thus forming a code that only a barcode scanner can read. It is represented in the form of a machine-readable data displayed on the visual surface. A bar code is found normally on consumer products and is specifically used for the purposes of inventory control. A computer can decode the bar code by visually scanning the pattern of bars, through which the record information regarding the item like its quantity sold and price can be achieved from the database.
Metrologic VoyagerBT offers freedom of mobility and convenience by incorporating the wireless technology of Bluetooth. It combines high performance, patented technology and futuristic design, all in one. Metrologic VoyagerBT provides a comfortable, light-weight and user-friendly scanning solution for the bar codes, at the core of which remains the feature of CodeGate.
As a Metrologic VoyagerBT is not connected to any wires, it can be easily used to scan heavy and bulky products, without the need to unnecessarily lift them or move them. Various applications for which Metrologic VoyagerBT is ideal include super markets, hyper markets, retailers, ware house shopping clubs, manufacturing industry and light ware house.
The Datalogic Lynx is the latest member in the family of Datalogic 2D scanners. Datalogic Lynx is available both in high resolution and standard modes, allowing the linear barcodes to be perfectly scanned and capturing images for signatures as well as OCR requirements. The 5-point aimer allows the users to know where they are aiming the scanner, eliminating the need to scan the product for a second or third time. Datalogic Lynx is available in RS232, USB as well as keyboard wedge configurations.
Posted by Amber on April 29th, 2008 EPOS scanners, also known as omni-directional bar code scanners or projection bar code scanners, work just as laser bar code scanners with addition of some mirrors and some other devices of reflection for transforming one line of laser light into many, at different angles. EPOS scanners allow fast reading ability of bar codes at all angles, making it perfect for the points of sale installations, like at a grocery shop. Other features of EPOS scanners include flexibility, compactness, connectivity and reliability, making them cost-effective investment devices, which meet future as well as current requirements at points of sales, in addition to maximizing the customer service.
Zebra 4800 resin ribbons offer exceptional scrape and solvent confrontation on a huge range of synthetic materials, in addition to providing excellent quality of print and definition at the edges. Zebra 4800 is ideal for printing banners, coated papers, cards, envelopes, index cards and labels, apart from plain papers, photo papers, iron-on transfers and transparencies. The printer is quite cost-effective, and one cartridge is able to print as many as 275 pages.
Intermec has a vast range of synthetic tags and labels in a variety of sizes. The Intermec thermal transfer solution ranges from mild to harsh environment, including broad range of temperature for meeting the requirement of all industries. Some of the applications may also include compliance labelling, ware house management, product ID / inventory and tracking, asset tracking, in addition to distribution, lumber and cryogenic. A durable Intermec thermal transfer label has a fine tear-resistance and has an aggressive adhesive, which is suitable for all outdoor applications.
Posted by Amber on March 1st, 2008 If you are looking for a way to keep track of assets in a more reliable way, you cannot go wrong with barcode scanners. Designed with photosensors that read barcodes after being scanned and then changing them into electrical pulses, these scanners make the information appear on a computer screen as readable text. The options for symbol scanners have grown significantly over the years where you now have all types of brands and models from which to choose. For instance, there are symbol 2D scanners, symbol laser scanners, EPOS scanners, CCD barcode scanners, and the list goes on and on.
You will also find a number of choices specific to the company’s environment, as well as industry. In this case, you might need a handheld or portable type of scanner or perhaps a desktop model would be more beneficial to your business. However, if possible, we do suggest you look at the new wireless barcode scanner, which is taking the market by storm. With this particular option, the barcode scanner is attached to one or more base stations where wirelessly, it sends information to the terminal. Now, the only limitation to this type of scanner is that you would need to keep within the range of the wireless capability. Otherwise, companies of all types have found this to be an excellent addition to their asset management system.
Posted by Amber on February 28th, 2008 Having been in existence for the past 26 years, Compaq has evolved, creating more and more exciting products, perfect for every person’s needs. If you have an older model computer, you can always upgrade but even with newer systems, you may find the type of work you do requires additional memory. In this case, upgradeable memory to hard drives is available. With Armada computers, you would purchase only Armada memory. In the case of the Armada 110, existing memory consists of a choice of 64 or 128 megabytes. To increase this, memory can be added, bringing your total capacity to 576 megabytes.
Another prime example for Compaq is the Concerto computer. For the model 4/33, you have four megabytes of non-removable memory already installed. Then, using Concerto memory, this can be increased to a maximum of 20 megabytes. As you can only imagine, the performance of your system will be seen immediately. Programs will load much faster and application crashes will be eliminated or greatly reduced, meaning far less wasted time for you! One other model made by Compaq that we wanted to address is the iPAQ. The heavy hitter of the bunch is the iPAQ 1HGz Pentium III, for the serious computer user. To upgrade to a maximum of 512 megabytes of memory, you would use iPAQ memory in the form of the PC133 SDRAM DIMM. No matter what, you cannot go wrong in choosing a Compaq. With any type of computer, Apple’s 20th Anniversary memory or Gateway’s 200 memory, performance can be enhanced.
